When linking content (e.g. a website) to a folder that doesn't yet have the desired subcategory, users are forced to interrupt their flow and manually create the subfolder elsewhere before returning to complete the link.
Allow users to create nested folders using / syntax directly in the link-to-folder input.
User types Marketing/New Channel Ideas into the folder selection input.
System shows suggestions like:
Create New Folder in Books/Marketing/New Channel Ideas
Create New Folder in ABLE/Marketing/New Channel Ideas
Create New Folder in Marketing/New Channel Ideas (if there’s a top-level Marketing folder)
The app creates the full folder path if it doesn't exist (parent + child).
The content is then linked directly into the newly created subfolder.
If multiple folders with the same name (e.g. "Marketing") exist, show multiple “Create” options with breadcrumbs for disambiguation.
Streamlines the capture flow — no need to leave context or pre-organize.
Enables fast, intuitive structuring of knowledge as you go.
Matches mental model from tools like Notion, Obsidian, and modern file explorers.
